Abby & Richard's wedding at Leez Priory ~ Preview

So OK, I didn't blog for awhile. December was crazy - my daughter's 3rd birthday, Christmas and an exciting new project I am working on.. Hopefully I'll be able to share it with you very soon!
But for now I can't wait to share some photos from a beautiful wedding in Essex which I had an honour to witness today. Amazing venue - Leez Priory where I've been first time 2 year ago now - and such a charming couple! Here's a little preview.

Northamptonshire wedding photography ~ Lucinda & Tim

Lucinda and Tim's elegant Christmas wedding took place at luxurious Fawsley Hall in Northamptonshire with the ceremony held at St Lawrence Church in Towcester. It was a truly beautiful day (although a very chilly one!) and I want them to remember it that way. Lucinda looked absolutely gorgeous and you may remember their little family from this newborn photo shoot I've done for them earlier this year.

Wandsworth wedding ~ Sunshine and Michael

Sunshine and Michael's wedding took place at the grand Wandsworth Town Hall in South West London (there were 10 more weddings on the same day there!) with the following reception just across the road at the cosy and spacious Brewers Inn. Sunny looked simply stunning! (I must say I've recently met a few gorgeous Australian brides! ) I absolutely adore her smile and doesn't her name suit her so perfect?

It's been awhile since I posted on my blog. With the main season pretty much over now I have been busy preparing some beautiful albums and books for my couples. But there is one engagement shoot left which I haven't shared yet and I am glad to show some pictures from it today. It was a beautiful day in the middle of October, warm and sunny. One of these days when you think oh, it is summer again! Now when the sun is very brief and days are rapidly getting shorter and shorter I especially love looking at these images!..

Pembroke Lodge wedding in London ~ Lena & Tom

Lena and Tom's wedding took place at Pembroke Lodge in Richmond Park, London. I loved everything about this elegant wedding - the music (Beatles for the ceremony!), the venue and its beautiful natural and evening light, the breathtaking views, the atmosphere which was incredibly relaxed and joyful. Lena looked absolutely stunning and it was difficult for me to concentrate on something or someone else than her! (Tom, you also did look very handsome!) But the thing which I completely fell in love with was... Lena's little vintage clutch (or is it called something else?) Isn't it so very pretty and so very photogenic?

With every new wedding I enjoy formal portraits more and more! :)

London engagement photography ~ Natalie & Charlie

Last Saturday I met two wonderful couples and had two fantastic engagement shoots in London. It was a beautiful day and I could not wish for a better way to spend it. I just love these little breaks I have from time to time when I have a chance to leave my nest & computer desk and hang out with people who are in love with each other. It's how I get my batteries re-charged with some serious positiveness :)
Natalie and Charlie's engagement shoot took place at Hampstead Heath in North London. The light was incredible. But even more incredible was Natalie's smile and the spark in her eyes! Please meet Natalie and Charlie!

Grim's Dyke Hotel wedding ~ Sarah & James

Beginning of October greeted us with a very hot weekend, remember? It was the weekend when Sarah and James' planned their beautiful wedding at Grim's Dyke Hotel in London. And what surprise weather for an October wedding! I'm sure Sarah was hoping for some sunshine, but I bet she didn't expect that much of it :) It was an amazing day for the families and friends and I know many family members had to travel long distance to be there and celebrate this very special occasion as Sarah's family live in Australia.
Thank you guys for trusting and sharing your beautiful day with me! And also a big thankyou to your dad Sarah for being such a lovely person and looking after me on the day :)

Nice words from clients

We haven't been in touch with Soheni and Sean since I posted their disc with wedding photos mid-summer. So when yesterday I received this sweet email I was very pleased with the feedback received. It is so very unfortunate about their video story of the day, but I am glad they have it in pictures. I am now feeling even more responsible for all my future weddings!

Hi Natasha,

We hope you, Mike and your daughter are all well. Sorry we haven't been in touch - it's been absolutely crazy for us both too! The disc and the photos were absolutely fantastic. It turned out that we didn't actually get a full video of the day, and were quite upset about that, but your photos do a wonderful job of telling the whole story all by themselves.

We can't thank you enough for the incredible job you did. All the guests were impressed with how you managed to take so many great photos while barely being noticed! You really captured the mood of the day perfectly, and we have been raving to all of our friends about your work. Would it be OK for us to pass on your details to our friends who are getting married in the next year or two?

Little Hermitage Kent wedding photography ~ Katya & Roman

I posted some sneak peek photos from this wedding earlier on my blog and here's the full post. Absolutely lovely venue Little Hermitage in Kent - so pretty and luxurious, yet with a very cosy feel. I loved the bridal suite and could have spent the entire day photographing just the dress and shoes :) But hey, they rest of the house was just as good!
It was such a fantastic day for both families, which had to travel far for this special day, and Katya and Roman couldn't look happier! Congratulations to you guys once again! Great pleasure meeting you and your families :)

Derbyshire wedding photography ~ Susan & Paul

Susan and Paul's wedding was an intimate gathering of family and close friends and it was a great privilege to be a part it. From the very beginning Susan and Paul were treating me as a good old friend (I even received my very own guest invitation!) and I can't thank them enough for making me feel so special. Their wedding was so relaxed and informal and I loved the nature friendly feel of it with plenty of DIY and home made elements. The food at Maynard Hotel was exquisite and I enjoyed the Ceilidh dances in the end (I wish I could stay late, but there was a long journey back home). On top of all that I visited the most beautiful and picturesque countryside in Derbyshire which I hope to visit again soon.

Susan and Paul, thank you so much for inviting me to share your special day and being such a welcoming Bride and Groom! (Susan, your cupcakes were delicious, my family enjoyed them very much!)

Northamptonshire wedding photography ~ Philippa & Andrew

It is becoming more and more challenging for me to keep the blog up to date. No wonder - September has started as a very busy month and I am thrilled to see my calendar getting rapidly filled up with more photo shoots! So to keep things moving, but not to overstress myself I am likely to post here once a week. If you are awaiting for your session/wedding highlights - please bear with me and thank you for your patience! :)

This week I am pleased to share some of my favourite images from Philippa and Andrew's beautiful, relaxed and so family friendly wedding. I met Philippa, Andrew and their children Ethan and Amilia last year for their engagement/family shoot. Amilia changed so much and turned into the sweetest little toddler. And I could not believe how much Philippa changed too since I last saw her! She did a fantastic job not just preparing the wedding, but also preparing herself for the wedding and getting fit. I know how incredibly difficult it is to get into shape, when you have a busy family and work life and I am genuinely impressed with the result. Philippa, you looked beautiful! I wish I had a bit of your willpower!.. :)

But back to the wedding. The venue was Whittlebury Park in Northamptonshire which I will remember as a venue with the most entertaining pianist and speaker Lincoln Noel. I have never seen before such a relaxed and lively approach to a wedding ceremony (usually they are so official). It was a great pleasure to witness this unique presentation, Lincoln!

Hertfordshire wedding photography ~ Sally & Glenn

Sally and Glenn's wedding took place at Knebworth place in Hertfordshire. Sally looked simply stunning and I adore her dress so much! Beautiful material, gorgeous details and classic design - it's a definite win! It was a fantastic day and Sally and Glenn were so relaxed and happy it made my job incredibly enjoyable and easy.
And I just wanted to say a big thank you to auntie Dorothy and her neighbours Rob and Gill (Sally's parents) for recommending me to the couple! It was such a pleasure to witness this beautiful and relaxed wedding :) Thank you for your trust!

What a gorgeous couple these two are! I first met Jen and Wil for their engagement session a year ago and couldn't believe my luck to photograph such a photogenic couple :) They look perfect together and so happy! And on the wedding day Jen was simply radiant! I admire her love for the blue colour and how she added these bright accents to her wedding outfit and the entire wedding look.

I'd like to share some of my favourite photos from this family shoot for Fiona, Craig and their baby-boy Liam. Children often become all serious when they see a new person. Especially if this person chases them around their house with a camera. (And I love the fact that children at this age don't know how to put a fake smile on their face yet - that's why it is so precious!) But I was lucky and despite not feeling very well Liam did show me his lovely 2 teeth and adorable little smile!

Bedfordshire wedding photography ~ Shena & Ming

I am very excited to share these images from Shena and Ming's wedding here! It was such an incredible day - pressure and fun, stress (bride's morning can be sometimes a bit stressful!) and laughter, rain and sunshine - I simply cannot describe it all here. I had one of the longest formal group lists in my wedding history (a massive thankyou to the groomsmen for their help organizing those!) and I had one of the most amazing, natural, emotional and so comfortable in front of the camera couples! I had a chance to photograph them in front of a breathtaking view and I saw one mind-blowing first [salsa] dance! Thank you Shena and Ming for such a fantastic day!

Sorry for not posting last week - it was rather busy! (but I promise I've got some new fantastic weddings I will be sharing here soon!) While my friend and her husband were at the hospital in labour ward welcoming their baby number 2 into this world, I was looking after their little son last week (now I know what it's like having 2 kids!). The new big family is now back home together and mum with the baby are feeling well. So I thought it would be the right time to post some pictures I took earlier of Lena, Suren and Mika while there were only the three of them.

London wedding photography ~ Laura & David

Laura and David are officially the most laid back bride and groom I've ever met. (I have realised it after they asked me if they could use my little old Rover as their wedding cortège to get to the photo shoot location! - I was rather flattered :) Seriously, I loved their approach to organising the wedding when instead of spending fortunes on rolls royces and fancy shoes they invited everyone they possibly could and threw a big party to celebrate this day. The big St James Church in Barnet where they got married was transferred into reception with lively ceilidh dances later. The light and the ambiance there were simply amazing!

Syon Park wedding photography ~ Kateryna & Prakash, part II

So, here is the second part from Katya & Prakash's beautiful wedding. After the newlywed photoshoot in the gardens and some family photos there was wedding breakfast prepared and served by a team of food experts 'At Home'. Not only was their food exeptionally well presented and tasty and the team was providing exeptional service to the guests, they also served my best photographer's dinner so far! A big Thankyou to 'At Home' for such a nice treat!
Now back to the day. After dinner Katya's frieds organized some traditional Russian/Ukrainian wedding games which were a great entertainment for the evening. But the biggest hit was Prakash's live perfomance for Katya and guests. There was such a great ambience in the evening with the open space of Grand Conservatory, candles light, guitar sound and amazing voice with all attention on it. Prakash, it was very touching! BTW, you can check his Pave Leclair website with the latest music and hopefully new tour dates coming in the UK soon after his recent relocation from Australia.

The first game was 'Boy or Girl'. Guests had to contribute some money into pink or blue baby trousers and the pair with more money win. It's a traditional wedding game in Ukraine and no, the bride doesn't have to be pregnant :)

There were more money in blue trousers!

But Katya's mum said they do have twins in the family history, so she contributed into both pairs of trousers :)

Getting ready for another game..

There are men sitting in a row, including the groom. The bride will touch everyone's ears and has to guess where her groom is!

It's a difficult one :)

Yes, she got it right!

And then the groom has to identify his bride's knees.. Go on, Prakash!

I know, it's nerve wracking to watch that! (look at the 2 gentlement on the second photos biting their fingers) :)

Syon Park wedding photography ~ Kateryna & Prakash, part I

I am delighted to share some photos from Katya and Prakash's wedding at Syon Park in London (it was hard to choose favourite images - there are so many of them, and I'm still choosing for the part 2). Not long ago we visited Syon Park together for their engagement shoot. Prakash and I were seeing the place for the first time and we both were speechless as we were discovering the beauty of it. And this time, at the wedding, Katya and Prakash's guests were speechless and totally overwhelmed by the magnificent Gardens, Great Conservatory, the House itself.
Katya and Prakash looked absolutely gorgeous and handsome! And I feel so lucky I had an opportunity to photograph such an elegant, beautiful, relaxed and fun wedding (some crazy Russian wedding games are coming in part 2 very soon!)

Thank you, Katya and Prakash, for trusting me your big day and especially for taking such a good care of me and treating as a very welcomed guest! Also a big Thankyou to all Syon Park wedding coordinators and especially Margaret who was ever so helpful giving me timings, directions and very useful advices!

Indian wedding in London ~ Kateryna & Prakash

Kateryna and Prakash's religious blessing took place at the exquisite Indian restaurant in Chelsea Chutney Mary, only 2 days before their formal wedding (another post will be coming soon!). It was a small gathering for the closest friends and family, and Indian weddings are about bringing the families together. Ritual after ritual we witnessed how the priest was symbolically tying not just the bride and groom together, but also the both families. New to such weddings I was keeping my eyes wide open as I didn't want to miss anything out. But that wasn't necessary - the priest was ever so helpful and willing for Katya and Prakash to have the best images, he was guiding me throughout the ceremony and even called "the most important person" meaning that I have an important job to document this meaningful event.

London engagement photography ~ Lucy & Ian

I am very excited to share Lucy and Ian's engagement photos here! They are such a natural couple and were so easy to work with (although it is difficult to call 'work' hanging out with two nice people and my camera). We met on a Monday evening in North London and walked to Hampstead Heath where they got engaged about half a year ago (what a great idea to have the engagement shoot at the same place!). The weather and the evening light were perfect and I couldn't wish for a more relaxed couple who are not afraid to show their feelings in front of the camera. Oh, and so stylish too. Ian, I just loved your socks!

I will be honest, I wanted to have some decent photos of me and Mike for long time. Having photographed all the lovely couples I met since I started doing engagement shoots I was getting quite a bit envious and eager to have my own 'engagement photos'. I even almost organized a portrait shoot for us, but this summer turned out a bit too busy for me. So yesterday when we were at the Oxford Botanic Gardens with my family (who are visiting us from Russia at the moment) I had a eureka moment. I saw a good spot and asked my brother to take some pictures of me and Mike. I set up my usual settings on the camera for him and gave him some directions. And he took some wonderful photos for us, which I'm just loving! Bear in mind my brother is only 11 years old :) Well done, Tim!!!

I know I often look very serious, but I hate being serious :)

Oh joy, Alexa came to give mummy and daddy a kiss.

And Tim managed to capture even the 3 of us! (which is a HARD job - Alexa is at this age now, when it's near to impossible to have her still and look at the camera nicely with others)

but she's not too difficult on her own :)

Katya and Prakash's wedding is only 2 weeks away(!), so I've decided it's OK if they jump in front of the queue here. We met yesterday at Syon Park in London where they will get married very soon. Having seen many beautiful venues this season I am lucky again to explore and photograph an absolutely stunning place with historic buildings and luxurious mature gardens.
I love my little engagement getaways when I come to meet a couple and do some fun and very much informal photos for them. Not only can I visit some pretty places like this, I also meet 2 happy people who are in love. And it just makes me feel happier too! Katya and Prakash, thank you for yesterday, it was a pleasure to get to know you a little bit better!

Buckinghamshire wedding photography ~ Tracy & Gary

I am extremely lucky this spring and summer with some amazing venues! Chicheley Hall is only 10 minutes drive away from where I live, but I never knew there was such a beautiful place there. It belongs to the Royal Society which is 'the oldest scientific academy in continuous existence' (read on their website). The place is a hidden gem both outside in the gardens and inside the Hall.
But actually I was going to share something even more special. Tracy and Gary's wedding was a beautiful and elegant affair to which Chicheley Hall suited perfectly. I was amazed how fragile and emotional these two strong and mature people were on their special day (yes, Gary, I am mostly talking about you :) As my mum said: then they are truly in love :)

I just love all the photos from this last minute organized and full of improvisations wedding of Niki and Justin. We were lucky to capture some beautiful light on a very sunny Friday morning, but my favourite thing was Justin and especially Niki's smiles and laughter which believe me were endless!.. Well, you can get the feel from some photos I selected below :)) (now I can't stop smiling after looking at them). It was great to meet you guys! Congratulations!

Justin is a very proud gardener who planted a chili seed that grew into this beautiful plant :)

What a fabulous wedding Sarah and Paul had at Tythe Barn last week! But the day wasn't so lucky to begin with.. Pouring down rain and then a broken down wedding car (the last minute news about it should I say). But all that was fixed in time and everyone had a fantastic day at this incredibly stylish wedding. I loved every bit of this fun, relaxing, sunflower bright, countryside inspired wedding! Vicky and Richard are such easy going people it was an absolute pleasure to share their big day. York & Albany & Nonna's deli

As promised earlier a closer look at Gordon Ramsay's restaurant York & Albany in London. Apart from excellent food (I did try some) and elegant interiors I was most impressed with the friendly and caring staff there. Let's not forget I am only a photographer at the wedding and usually by no means caterers' priority. At York & Albany I was treated most welcomed like a very valued customer thanks to Leanne and Toby's wedding coordinator and other staff.

The restaurant is divided into 3 main areas: upstairs where the bar is, with big windows and lots of light, downstairs where the kitchen area is, with everything in red and very dimmed lights and Nonna's deli, a small but so cosy area with a rustic feel used as a bakery and deli counter.

London wedding photography ~ Leanne & Toby

OK, where do I start?.. Probably I should start with the most memorable point - I had a great day and evening photographing and celebrating Leanne & Toby's wedding last Saturday! Amazing small gathering for the closest family and friends at Gordon Ramsay's restaurant York & Albany near Regents Park in London.
Far from being traditional Leanne decided to start with the Bride&Groom photo session before the ceremony, which took place mostly in the taxi cab :) as we were driving across London a bit, visiting some memorable places. And then it was a very cosy and relaxed event at the famous chef's restaurant. The interior, the staff, the food were simply outstanding and I think I'll do a separate post with more details from York & Albany. For now some of my favourite photos from the day.
Leanne and Toby, thank you for being such an amazing couple and congratulations to you! And a special thankyou to little Holly and Molly for being such amazing flower girls :)

Newborn photography ~ Northamptonshire

It is nice to take a break from weddings sometimes and switch to something even more meaningful and powerful, than the love between two people. It's the love of two people to a tiny fragile creature who has appeared from almost nothing, the kind of love which is absolutely unconditional, unexplainable and yet so powerful.

Back from Portugal!

Recently I've been really-really busy, so one week in sunny Portugal was my long awaited retreat. Despite the typical tourist seaside atmosphere with its crazy night life we enjoyed our stay in Algarve, South Portugal. Amandine and Stephane, wedding highlights

Absolutely lovely romantic French city wedding in London! So easy going, so relaxed, so fun.
Amandine and Stephane, you made everyone (I am sure) feel so welcome, including me, it was a great pleasure to share your special day!

Everything started at Islington Town Hall in London, which I visited first time a year ago. I like going to new places, but it's a nice feeling coming back to a familiar venue.

Tasha & Rob's wedding highlights

What a fabulous wedding I had a pleasure to witness last Sunday. Easter wedding on the Easter Sunday! Tasha and Rob are such a natural, photogenic and easy to be around couple that it was an absolute delight to be their wedding photographer! My sincere congratulations to you guys!
